Close a seasonal campaign in an organized way

Close a seasonal campaign by coordinating advertisements, landing pages, contact routes and the final review.

Calendar on a clipboard with stationery

A seasonal campaign does not automatically end when its last advertisement is paused. Links can remain in emails, posts and saved browser pages. People arriving later need a clear explanation rather than an expired promise or an empty error page.

Define the ending when the campaign begins. Record the date, any relevant time, the responsible person and how late enquiries will be handled. Sales and marketing should apply the same rule to a limited offer.

Review the visible contact points together

Make a short list of advertisements, landing pages, profile posts, email templates and booking links. Check every active route. A paused advertising campaign may still be promoted by an automated email. Equally, an updated page may remain connected to an advertisement containing an old promise.

Replace outdated statements with an explicit status. If the promotion has ended, say so. Where an ordinary service provides a useful alternative, link to it and explain the difference. An expired special offer should not silently become a more expensive service as though nothing changed.

Keep useful information available when appropriate. A seasonal page may still answer a recurring question even after booking closes. Decide deliberately whether to retain and update it, redirect it to a relevant destination or retire it. Avoid sending every old link to an unrelated homepage.

Handle late enquiries consistently

Check whether ongoing conversations, open quotations or confirmed appointments still belong to the promotion. Switching off a campaign must not remove those cases from the business record. Tell the responsible colleagues which commitments remain valid and where the authoritative documents are stored.

Prepare a short factual response for new requests arriving after the deadline. It should explain the current position and mention only alternatives that actually exist. Do not promise that the promotion will return next year unless that decision has been made.

Review the outcome after closing the operation

Save the texts, dates, costs and results in a dated campaign folder. Mark pending decisions so an early review is not mistaken for a final account of orders. Record technical failures and changes made during the activity as well.

Finish with a specific lesson for future planning. Was the lead time sufficient? Did customers repeatedly ask an unanswered question? Did demand exceed the team's ability to respond? Those observations can improve a later campaign more directly than an unexplained collection of reach figures.

Take the next question further.
